The start of the digital Euro test phase is expected in October 2025 within the Euro zone and it should be publicly available to all Euro zone citizens in 2028. For people outside the Euro zone and EU, it should be possible to use the digital Euro, because a digital Euro is being developed to serve as a potential means of payment for non-Euro zone residents.
